Minyfy rooms are full-screen place memories you cast for a house party — not a collaborative playlist, not an aux fight. This guide is for people who listen and people who host.

What is a room?

A room is a place scene plus continuous music on one page. You open one URL on the shared screen. Tracks keep going without a queue.

Not a DJ booth. Not “everyone add three songs.” A radio in a room you remember.

Room — or something better?

Keep “room.” It’s already the saloon-wave word (“rooms open”, “make a room”), short for TV, and live in the product.

Room Product noun. Buttons, URLs, “Make a Room.”
Place Feeling: “a place from your past.” Not the product name alone.
Saloon Culture / wave. Stories and maps — not the primary button.
Radio / Station Inside names only (Kitchen Radio). Not the type of product.

Avoid renaming mid-flight (URLs, nav, map language). Dual-brand if needed: room in UI, saloon in stories.

You do not need an account.

What you do

  1. Open the link someone shared (often go.minyvinyl.com/…).
  2. Prefer the big screen — phone browser cast or TV browser.
  3. Go full-screen (or cast the tab).
  4. Tap the main button once (Turn the dial, Pour the chai, Press play…).
  5. Leave it. Tracks advance on their own.

For hosts

Your job: choose a place, start the music, protect the vibe — not DJ every track.

Option A — Pack room (fastest)

  1. Open Kitchen or Tapri before guests arrive.
  2. Cast full-screen.
  3. Press play once.
  4. Put the phone down.

Option B — Make your own

Login required — rooms save to the Minyfy database under your account.

  1. Open Make a Room.
  2. Log in with Google.
  3. Pick a place (or name your own).
  4. Import a soundtrack (Minyfy link, Spotify, YouTube, …) or paste tracks (5–30).
  5. Create the room — or use Import & create room on a Minyfy link.
  6. Cast the new link full-screen.

Do guests need accounts?
No.

Do I need an account to create a room?
Yes — Google login. Pack rooms play without login.

Is this Spotify?
No. You can import from Spotify; playback is Minyfy’s cast path (usually YouTube under the hood).

Room vs mixtape?
Room (/room) = cast night, place scene.
Play page (/play) = full Minyfy card (share, comments, chrome).

Can I edit after create?
v1 is mint-and-cast. Clone your Minyfy link, edit tracks, create a new room.
